Planning a trip from Kalgoorlie to Wiluna across to Carnegie station, onto the Gunbarrel hwy through to the Great Central Rd, then we'll head up the Sandy Blight Rd, left ontoGary Junction Rd, heading west through to Telfar.
Has any one travelled these tracks in the last 12 months any feedback would be appreciated . Proposed date of travel Aug
Cheers

All of that, but not in the last 12 months except Kunawarritji to Telfer in July 2025.
It was freshly graded.
Then south through Karlamilyi - Ruddal River N.P., rough as usual.
But I can make a guess for much of the rest, ....some old water damage, and lots of serious corrugations.....

A recommendation to re-stock at Punmu instead of Kunawarritji, but either is OK.
Great trip.
Cheers,
Peter

ps... I understand that the grading I mentioned to Kunawarratji was going to go all the way to the WA-NT border, so pretty close to where it meets the Sandy Blight.
The Gary Junction Road had been closed for some time before this. Kunawarratji was actually out of fuel and waiting for the grader when we got there from the Canning.
Avoid Kintore/Walungurru, if you can.
Cheers,
Peter

We did a round trip from Alice, via Uluru, up the Sandy Blight Junction Rd to the GJR & back to Alice last May. The SBJ Rd was one I had long wanted to do but made the mistake of travelling with another couple who wanted to take less time doing it than we would have, had we been on our own. Lesson learned. We have rarely travelled with others. It is a pretty track worth savouring I reckon. Not difficult.

The GJR eastward was in horrendous condition, heavily corrugated & unpleasant jarring gutters on a regular basis. Quite different to when we travelled the GJR all the way west to Telfer & then down to Karlamilyi, a few years earlier, a trip we thoroughly enjoyed. Luck of the draw as to when it was last graded. Only a guess but I'd reckon that in August the road may have had more grading. We saw graders in action in late May but they hadn't got far at that stage
