Hi Robert,

I was there 3 years ago, it was a pretty easy sandy track in. I don't think you would have any problems in a Forester.

Cheers Tony.

Was there about 4 weeks ago. The road from the campground up to palm valley (4km) is fairly rough but if you take it easy you'll be right. A Nissan Xtrail took out his sump when we were there by going to fast.

Yep, I did it a few times with my forester. There is really only 1 spot that will cause a small amount of concern, but take it slow and it will be fine. Never had any damage to mine.

Have been there 3 days ago. The track is a bit sandy and you have one place where you will have to be Cautious maybe even ask somebody to take a looke from the side to make sure you don't scrach the rock. No other problems. If you can I suggest walking the full trip (App 90 minutes) at the afternoon it's great.

A general comment - I have just bought a Forester after having two "L" series. Strangely Subaru have built a more capable 4WD but left off the sump guard !!?? This will be the first and most critical saftey modification/addition to mine. PS. Auto GT Forester is the way to go - brother's handled the Canning S R with ease!

took and XD Falcon sedan in there once, got stuck in the sand but there are always plenty of people willing to drag you through.

In regard to my comment on sump guard for Forester - you can use one off a L series - there must be lots at wreckers - just needs a 30 mm strip welded to leading edge and use same bolt holes that hold on the useless piece of plastic !
