Looking at my options Would one of those GMC generators run a small air compressor have a small 240 volt air compressors 2hp otherwise i need to get a 12volt air compressor cost about $200 for a good one But I can get a gen set for $180 have the room to carry both so size does not matter but will the gen set do the job if not what brand of 12volt air compressor should I buy Also would the gen set run one of the bran porta
winches would be handy if I have a flat battery and need to winch Also will they run a fridge and light at the same time

I have a Scorpion 850w 2stroke gen set & it seems to work as specified & at around $200 is OK!
This is about 8 amps continous output & I think your winch would need much more.
Not sure about the portable
winches. Best you work it out yourself by adding up the watts or amps each _Affordable_Storage_Drawers.aspx & see if it exceeds the gen output.
This is OK for a short while but you can estimate your needs.
I have a 12v chinese compressor I bought off ebay for $155 + $27 F&I.
Seems to be the same as the MaxAir at $399 retail.
It inflates a 235x16 tyre from ZERO to 30psi in 3 minutes & _Affordable_Storage_Drawers.aspx 15-30 amps
according to the blurb. They recommend running the motor at the same time but I didnt just to
test it & it worked fine.Do not buy anything less than the $399 rec retail comp or you may end up with a useless tool.

In short the answer is no.
The 2hp compressor _Affordable_Storage_Drawers.aspx 1500 watts, the generators (various) output from 650 to 950. not enough.
Sorry.
(thats why their cheap)

And that's 1500W when it's running. To get it started you need a lot more power.

Tim,
Looking at this post any your next. The areas you are going to be travelling in can be done in a normal car. Should not need a winch.
As for the $180 gennies, they are great for running lights and 12v / 240 v powerpacks for the fridge. we have just finished a trip from
Sydney to
Birdsville via the Corner and it took us 3 weeks. Slow down and enjoy
