Camp Oven Cookout

Wow Bundy if only......but have something unavoidable on the 18th and could not risk not being back in Sydney for it. Would be great if you could take and post some photos.

Looks like a worthwhile weekend coming up for me.

I cannot cook to save my own skin but if I can get the SWMBO along she may be able to get a few recipies. At a campout on the Baffle Creek friends of ours cooked up all sort of things in campovens and what a feast. from chickens to mud crabs.

I think this may be a perfect chance to learn.

I will pencil this weekend in my book.

At Blinman, in the central region of the Flinders Ranges, just above Wilpena, is the second

CAMP OVEN COOK OFF

on October 2,3 & 4th.

They shut the street (there's only one street in Blinman), put river gravel on the street surface, and use that area as a creekbed camp kitchen. Fire/coals are supplied, and on one day an entrant has to present a meat dish (meat, potatoes, carrots, onions supplied provided), and on the other day a flour dish (plain flour provided).
