B & J
I'd allow three days, especially if you want to get off the blacktop. From experience in early May, try
Bathurst to
Cobar, and on to
Louth for day one. There's a dinky little caravan
park there, or you can
camp on the river bank either side.
Next day, make it to
Tibooburra,
camp in the National
Park at Deadhorse Gully just outside town. then on to Innaminka on day three. The most interesting is out to Cameron's Corner, across to the Old Strez track and up to Inna, but its fun up to Wari
gate and across that way too.
If there is rain about do it on the blacktop though.
Cheers & enjoy the GO

Bob,
We did
Sydney to
Bourke in a day pretty comfortable but not much time for smelling the roses. You may make
Wanaaring in the day from
Bathurst.
Bourke to
Fort Grey we also did in a day but it was a big one and we set up
camp in the dark. The road west of
Wanaaring was pretty much under
water and when we got to Tib there was a bit of disagreement between locals as to whether or not the road was open. It slowed us down heaps 200k in about 41/2hrs. If the road was dry it would be much quicker.
Fort Grey to
Innamincka is easily done in a day.
Alternativly you could do
Bathurst to
Broken Hill in a biggish day, about 10hrs plus stops. Then BH to
Innamincka is possible in a day.
Either way you are going to be doing ,ore driving than sightseeing.

Thanks everybody - that has put it into perspective for us - unless we are really pressed we will find a bit of extra time I think - and keep an eye on the weather !
