Hi Folks
Looking for some information
2 weeks ago I lost my brakes with pedal on the floor, master cylinder u/s
After the fiting and trying of 5 new cylinders which all resulted in a brake pedal that slow faded to the floor the supplyer agreed to get one sleeved and overhauled, this has been fitted and the resulted id a pedal that fades half way then firms up.
The discs have been machined, callipers overhauled, bearings adjusted to zero play, all new hoses and new pads.
I am still not happy with the pedal height as I remember it being a lot higher before all this started .
Any help or info would be useful
Ray

Hi Kiwi,
Sounds to me as if there may be air in the Brake lines.
Ask your Supplier to bleed the System and see if this fixes your problem.

G'day Ray
My experience is very similar to yours - see my post #14176. I'm still chasing the problem and suspect it's a stubborn bubble of air stuck in the system. I've had the brakes checked out by a mate who runs a brake service interstate - he reckons the same and says that in some severe cases, reverse flushing is the only way to dislodge air bubbles back up to the Master Cylinder - trying to vent them through the calipers just doesn't work. He's made up a special reverse flushing kit for that purpose. He says it's a bit of a fiddly process and many brake
services think its too much trouble. Anyway ... we'll soon see whether the theory is borne out in practice. I've got my Cruiser booked in with him next week to work his magic and will let you know what I find out.
Cheers
MikeV
