Hi folks, just got back from AgQuip, did any body else go.
What a waste of time that was.
There was little to see relating to agriculture and loads of rip-off merchants and el-cheapo gear being sold at anything but cheap prices.
First off, the there web site is only aimed at anyone that wants to rent a site at AgQuip, there is no info for people who want to get info about going there.
AgQuip it self was nothing more than a big weekend market place WITHOUT the bargains. The original point of AgQuip seems to be lost to whoever is running it now. I wander if the fact that the Commonwealth Bank is now the sponsor has something to do with it.
A total waste of time, after taking a week off and driving down from Queensland to see that side show joke. I won’t be going again and just about everyone I spoke to said the same and people in
Tamworth dont bother going saying it’s been that way for a few years now.
If anyone else went, love to hear your opinions.
Regards

G'day drivesafe,
As far as agricultural field days go, I've not yet seen any to rival the
Toowoomba Ag Show (this year Aug 31, Sept 1 & 2 at the
Toowoomba show grounds)...
Wide range of machinery relating to the cotton & broad-acre cereal growing industries, and the beef industry is
well represented also with several stud cattle sales taking place during the course of the event... All the car dealers are usually in attendance, as
well as a few caravan & camper-trailer distributors displaying their wares... The "new invention" section is always worth a look..
Of course there the never-ending "flea market" type stalls to wade through as
well, with the occasional "bargain" to be had...
All in all, I think if you're "into" such things, this is one not to be missed...
(I know I'll be there!)

Hi Ed. C., funny you should mention the
Toowoomba Ag Show. I am going and a number of my trade customers over the last few months have told me they too were going and would see me there.
Not one of my trade customers even mentioned AgQuip. I should have learnt something from that.
I've never been
Toowoomba Ag Show but from what I hear it is good so if your going I might see you there too.

Nothing beats the Henty Machinery Field days that are on in late Spetember. Its an excellent day out and bargains can be had for sure if you no your prices before going.
Last year yamaha generators and
inverters were 200 off if your ordered on the day.
ARB always have a few specials.
and you can good deals on tractors.
And they do not permit carnival type rides or the like as it is promoted as machinery field days not a "show".

Hi wheelerdog, there was no promotion to speak of so we don’t know if it was supposed to be field days or a show. Which ever it was, it failed miserably.
As for rides, there was a helicopter and 2 hag gliders, all running non joy flights that flew around the site all day long and the noise just added to the displeasure of the place, but thats my bitch for the day.
