Have you checked their website

http://www.cootacampers.com.au/index.html

I had a look at them in Canberra . . .

BIG . . . HUGE . . . and HEAVY . . .

Exact weight , I don't know , but have a look at the specs and it will give you some idea. Caravan Weight I think.

I didn't like them much , thats just my opinion though. The trailer workmanship was pretty good , but their Canvas work was ordinary. For the price of them I personally would look elsewhere.

Hard to put a finger on ONE exact thing . . . more a few things , and the "look".

To try and explain.

I didn't like their sewing. the seams just didn't seem right. Few frayed bits here and there , and looked like a few 2nd goes (this was on their demo one mind). Didn't like their Metal Poles , just welded together. Everyone else bends their poles in one piece.

As I said , Its more of a feel and look , then anything. Also bearing in mind price.

If I had seen the same thing on say a budget CT , you would sort of go . . . OK . . . thats life on a budget , but seeing how you are paying . . . what . . . $25k or more . . . I would expect nothing but topnotch quality work.

I did say though , I found the trailer workmanship , of very good quality , the ideas very good , but , for the money . . . just expect more . . .

Just my opinion though . . .

Don't know about the coota camper but I have recently bought a Tambo camper and am very impressed - canvas is good and the layout and setup procedures easy. Got a few little extras that the othewrs don't have too. $9,500 for the virtual top of the line and about $4000 cheaper than their nearest competitor.

I really like the camper, just got to save the bickees to buy one. Weight wise 1250kg bare, then add all the water etc etc you will get up to 1600- 1700kg but some of that can be stored in your vehicle.

A great unit to tow and it rides a lot better than the single axle ones, the builder takes his to the High Country, Cape and the Kimberly with no drama.

They have redesigned the canvas and is a lot better than the earlier models.

Hi Rob&Kev&roo

I have been on 2 of the Bourke treks so far, along with Jim, his family & camper, only met him then so no other associtation. I thought it was well designed for ease of use along the road for a cuppa or to set up for the night, great storage and designed to keep dust out, I have seen it for myself. 2 yrs ago up to Cairns. Another trekkers vehicle dropped its bundle and Jim took all his gear for the rest of the trip with a Mazda or Courier DCab, 4people plus the xtra gear. Last yr another 3,000k trip to which his camper proved durable on Birdsville track, to Windorah etc which was just reopened after rain. Last yr behind an F250. Wheel trak to suit the TC or Nsn but comfort & storage to equal.

20cnts worth

Andy

Hi Rob, we looked at the Coota campers as well, but I didn't like the idea of so many poles int he annexe. We want to go away and relax not spend all weekend putting up poles in the annex. There were so many of them. After looking at lots of different campers, we settled on a Kanga Camper from Wodonga. Really happy with it. Since we have brought it 3 people have seen it and 3 people have brought one going on our setup. We have been really impressed with it, and heeps cheaper than the coota camper................

Thats my 2 bobs worth any way............
