For your DAD - around town and depending on how 'heavy' his right foot is expect at absolute best 14l/100km. Normal will be around the 18-20l/100km. On a recent trip to the further reaches of the north of WA saw the v8 100s using 30-36l/100km. As for towing - expect anything between 25-40l/100km. Thirsty aren't they? rgds

driving
adelaide to melb in 98 4.5l gxl 100k on clock with 2 blokes and no luggage and stock everything i averaged about 16l/100km using cruise and sitting on speed limit(most of the time)
didnt have for long enough to give you other figures but having owned 80 series petrol can look at up to 30l/100km towing
around town roughly 20l/100km

I have a LC100 GXL T/D Auto with 5,000k on the clock. Mostly used for school bus but have also towed camper, and done some reasonably serious bush work. Doing between 14 & 15 L / 100k. Hoping to get less as it loosens up.
