Hi All,
Just returned from a great 4 week outback trip that destroyed 2 of my tyres (lucky I had 2 spares). I started ringing around to find a good deal on two new tyres 265/75/R16.
Only one tyre supplier (in VIC, within 45 min drive of my place) had them in stock, apparently there is no stock of this size at BFG in Australia for 3-4 weeks. So I had to pay full price! ($265 each).
So much for this being a common tyre size!
Regards
Phil P

It is a common size, thats why there are none available.
If it was a rare size, there would be 100's at warehouse :)

Heard the other day that BFG 245/70 R 16 is NA in
Brisbane area at all. But could get some in SA....might be a general slowing in supply for the brand (BTW- price for that size in Adel is $262).

Hi Banjo .... seems that BFG AT 245/70R16 come in waves.
The two times I bought a set, one on in 1999 and the other last year, no problems.
2 years ago, a friend of
mine tried to get a set of 5. Got 2 from one tyre place and 3 from another because stock was drying up.

yeah i was in at arb northern this arvo and they also told me this, apparently there was a huge order to go to china and the production lines have been caught napping.. all the small fry destinations had stock allocations reduced to supply the order. But that is a common size !! so common everybody wants em, and we are just the small fry.

I had the same problem & posted comment on this about a month ago, November was the supply date then
Some comment at the time was the mould had been broken but the dealer "Torcu" of Enfield
Sydney said Aussie only got the left overs as we are not a big enough market.
