Hello out there!
After years in a HILUX or 2, i have upgraded to a 100 series!
After adding some gear i am looking to add the ALARM Upgrade!
Has anyone had any experience with adding an alarm upgrade to a 2003 toyota landcruiser 100 series petrol?
Cheers
Dave

i added a piranha alarm ... very happy with it, it adds another 2 immoblisers to the system to give you a total of 3..... also have the ultrasonic detectors fitted internally, cost was $860.00 in
Melbourne, the last one i had fitted was $1,080.00 in
Sydney

I also have a 100 and after having 2 Prados stolen in 2002 its a matter of once more and I would never get Insurance again. I researched them all and went with Brant Security in
Sydney.

How much? Any likelihood of a 'lock out' in a remote area?

It was around the $350-360. mark (heaps cheaper than most) and in Nov lthis year it can also be linked to a GPS tracking system. I don't know what you mean by a lock out - please give a slow bloke a bit more idea what you mean.
Also it is the only system recommended by MB Prestige Insurance Co.

Hi Dave,
Just off topic a tad mate.....
Check with Insurance company that your with as now some wont cover you UNLESS ALL the wires to the alarm system are BLACK in colour. Reason for this is it makes it a little harder for thieves to identify which wires they need to find in order to over ride the Imobiliser wires. Better safe than sorry ok, I know some alarm shops are selling discounted alarms to get rid of the older multi coloured wired systems. So check first then rest easy.
