I would find it ridiculous & difficult to place a ban on 4WD's in any city. The class action of all owners of 4WD's would tie up the courts of Australia for years. The illegality of the ban would cause a problem to the authorities so widespread it would make thier powers as thin as the mentality of those who want to place such a ban.
This is not the democratic society we think it is, this country is ruled by minority and 4WD owners fall into that catagory as
well. The amount of life restrictions placed on individual Australians is only caused by all who live within and allow it to happen.
The only power needed here is to stand and be counted.

Let's face it our individual rights are being eroded daily. We have the hoon law in WA - if you do a donut the police take your car. And now they are talking about the dobber hoon law - if someone says you did a donut then they take you car!
Soon it'll be 2km over speed limit and car imponded for 6 months...you may laugh all you want it's the way we are heading...

I bet it is based on this (with a few twists of fact thrown in to boot):
Courier Mail (AAMI Stupid Survey)
Half of all drivers hate 4WDs
28sep04
NEARLY half of all motorists believe the drivers of four-wheel-drive vehicles are more arrogant and aggressive than other drivers, according to a new survey.
The survey of 1880 people by insurance company AAMI in all parts of Australia other than WA and the Northern Territory found 46 per cent of motorists believed that 4WD drivers were more arrogant and aggressive on the road. And 17 per cent of 4WD motorists agreed.
The survey also found 70 per cent of drivers believed 4WD owners were more dangerous for other road users, and 39 per cent of 4WD owners agreed.
Almost half of those surveyed – 48 per cent – believed that 4WDs did not belong in city areas, according to AAMI.

It's the same stort gets rehashed every 3-6 months.
Do us all a favour and don't even turn the TV on tonight. Don't give them the viewers that they're chasing.

If 48% thought 4x4s should not be allowed in the city then that means 52% want them in the city!!
Majority Rules!!!!!

Let's get a segment on Today Tonight - dangers of city drivers and sedans on country roads - gee, they drive faster than their skills, get bogged, run into trees, kangaroos, cows, clog up our roads on long weekends, have their radios too loud, must be lots of reasons to get sedans oout of our way.
Mine you, if they got the cities of our roads, 4wd-ing would be better anyway.
Sorry guys, i got up too early this morning - not a rational person!

Isn't it funny AAMI insurance didn't bother surveying WA or NT one has to wonder why?
