Hi,
I've just finished reading James Woodford's book "The Dog Fence" - thoroughly enjoyable - and in which he quotes one of the Dog Fence Boundary Riders as saying "... no matter what, don't miss the waterhole." The author then describes the waterhole in glowing terms.
Is this the stretch of water down from the Innamincka Pub or, if not, does any EOz know of it and is able to provide directions please?
I hasten to add I tried "Munamerrie" in Archives, but to no avail.

Gave Len Dixon, the fencer on the dog fence at Smithville south Cameron Corner a ring, and also Bill Thomas the Ranger at Fort Grey, neither of them have heard of it. Dare say I'd get the same answer from Bollards Lagoon. The Cooper runs right down into Lake Eyre & the closest the Fence comes to that is about 150 ks from Cameron Corner and about the same down the Birdsville Track.

Suggest an email to the author with a "please explain"

Thanks Cocka,
I gave a bum steer in my post, the Munamerrie is on the "Wilson River Overflow" and which flows into Cooper Creek evidently near Windorah.
I've followed up on your suggestion and emailed the publishers, requesting that they ask the author to provide some directions.

The Wilson R. runs roughly between Eromanga & Noccundra & peters out towards the Cooper. In times of heavy flow it would "overflow" to Cooper Crk.
Not far from the Dig Tree there's a station "Nappa Merrie" on the Cooper.
I'd bet that's the place your looking for.
There's a fairly colourful bloke by the name of Alf "Bomber" Johnston lives at Nappa Merrie, looks a bit like Bruce Ruxton, and Bomber will often be seen out at the Dig Tree with his dog.

It's still a long way from the dog fence.

If you paste this reference below into google> search >select the file, it'll open as a PDF file.
The wetlands pic makes reference to the area:

Bomber's dog was pretty sore and sick when we were there in April. An avgas drum had been dropped on her (I think it was a bitch) leg.
