Hi Jim:

Agree with you on Hill End. I "turned up" there a few months ago and found it fascinating. Went and bought a book on its history in Mudgee, and can't wait to get back. As I had arrived just after 5pm I could not get to some of the places (Museum etc).

Based on this experience, when I plan a trip now I look a little more closely at what history is in the areas I am visiting, read up on it. I have just returned from a trip through parts of Victoria. Stayed in Ballarat for a few days after reading up on the Eureka Stockade, and it was a fabulous trip. I knew wnat I wanted to see, saw that, and found even more. Gotta love travelling !!!!!

Morning Baz,
Well i dont have any suggestions at moment BUT, I am almost ready to head back down to Bendethera. I am just about finishes setting up the trailer (just waiting for my new tool box to arrive on the A frame) and am very keen to take the bike down there for some nice rides. Want to explore the caves this time and do some hikes. I will be doing this during week days though and not weekends as I heard it gets kinda busy some times. I am looking for a peacful few days in there. I know the river will be a challenge riding down it on the bike. And with the increadable weather we are having I am keen to dip my wick into the water for a swim.
BUT as far as i know, Paul is still ok for the Yalwal trip on the 23 - 24th Oct. From what i have heard its a boy's weekend so it sounds like a challenge. The othere thing is, I am seriously wanting to head back into the high country again, although i spent 3 weeks in there alone back in 2002, There is still so much i didnt see. Who knows, Maybe truckster and his mates down south may organise a trip up there some time. Its just so much nicer when someone knows where they are heading and know the great spots rather than takea chance and be dissapointed.
Time will tell, but i am watching the trip postings.
Take care my friend, hope to see you soon.
