Fellow forumites,
I have to fess up to making a fairly silly mistake on the weekend. We went away in the campertrailer - minus our doona :-(. Had to raid the kids supply of bedding and utilise our coats and snuggle up real close and managed to sleep fairly
well anyway but boy did I feel like a dunce. All our bedding except for our doona (which we use on our bed at home) remains in the camper; I'll be shopping this week for "camper only" doona! I'll bet I'm not the only one who's left something vital at home before!?

I got a flat tyre on
the beach once. Not a puncture but just too low pressure. The real problem started when I couldn't find my jacking plate. Turns out it was unpacked with other gear and was at the
campsite. I used my foldable shovel as a plate.
Doesn't fold anymore. I wonder why?

I got caught. Changed the
wheels to the bush rims and forgot to pack the the wheel brace. the one that lives in the truck won't fit the bush
wheels.
Ever changed tyres with a shifter.
Talk about feeling dumb

Now you mention it. Yeah I have changed a tyre with a shifter. Was a real PITA especially on little 12inch heavy duty tandem axle trailer
wheels so you couldn't get a good angle.
I had tried to forget that and now you have dragged up all the emotions again LOL

Just back from a trip via the
Grampians and I forgot to pack the eating gear. Plates, cups, knives, forks, spoons, bowls .. etc etc etc ........
I thought maybe we could go "Indian" every night and use our fingers, but this suggestion was not
well received. Hard to figure some people's sense of humour.

Went
camping with the old man last year and after finally finding a place to
camp in the pitch black, went to put up the tent only to discover he'd left the pegs and poles for his tent behind.Set up our tent so the ladies could wait in it and drove back to get the poles. Finally got the tent up at 0130.Always checked his
camping gear after that.

Iv'e done the forgetting the tent poles and peg bag, luckily it was the days before we had a dome tent, and could make a few very ordinary substitutes out of sticks.
But you do have me thinking about hiding our doona from the CT, as a sure fire way of getting an up close snuggle! Thanks for
the tip

My truck is packed permanently for
camping. After each trip I restock the necessary items except food ofcourse and then when going on a trip just have to fill up with tucker and fuel. One thing I still haven't got is a decent night light and every time I get out at a
campsite I find that the torch batteries are flat or going flat and I have no spares. It is a bit like the movie Groundhog Day where the scene keeps on repeating itself. Will I ever learn?
So you are not alone, Melissa :o)

The more often you
camp the more likely you are to forget soemthing.
I'm a little like Willem - my truck pretty much stays packed permanently - but I'm yet to develop the discipline of replacing things after each trip! We
camp a lot - so it's worse because we are getting slack with being organised.
We have our pillows, and on one occiasion we even forgot
toilet paper!!!!

We've been
camping 25 years and have spent 25 years promising to make a check list. Haven't got round to it yet - have become ingenious in dealing with what ever we left home! LOL
Who cares - beats staying home! :-))

We were on our 2nd trip to
Townsville to see my parents and had decided to go a little more inland that we did the last time and I forgot to pack all the maps.
We decided to just keep going without them until we really needed to buy some, ended going though
places we never would have if we were following our planned route by map.
Turned out to be a good thing!!

Left our clothing bags home on one trip to the Gammons. Bought toiletries on the way then found out how
well you can do washing essential clothes each night then wearing them again next day.
Luckily it was hot weather.
Taught us that we can get away with a lot less than we used to take.
