I am looking at buying new tyres for my Holden Rodeo 4WD. Does anyone have any suggestions as to the best brand and type of tyre that I should consider?

Hi macka... That is almost an unanswerable question because you have given no information at all on what you are expecting from vehicle and where you are going to point it more often than not...
It is like asking the
forum what you should be buying for dinner tomorrow night...

buddy what you need to look at is what you are going to be using your 4wd for. Ask yourself how much onroad driving you will be doing compaired to offroad driving. if you do about 70% onroad with 30 off then i suggest that you go for all terrains. I own 6 sets of tyres at the pressent time as i do alot of 4wding in the ruggedest of different terrains. I have owned several all terrain tyres and i would have to say the best all round would be the coopers a/t. they last and arnt that bad off road either. They are not a tyre you take into serious 4wd situations but thats ok if you have a rodeo because of there little offroad ability anyhow. coopers a/t are quite good in a wide range if terrain. In a holden rodeo the max size i would go is 16' or they will rub in your guards big time. good luck with things.

Macka8,
If you are looking for a good all round tyre for a reasonable price, you might like to consider Bridgestone Desert Duellers.
A friend of
mine is on his second set on his Rodeo.
He got 70,000K's with his first set.

Hi macka
When you're doing your pricing, you may find it more cost effective to buy 15x7"
wheels and 31/10.5x15 tyres. You will have a wider range to chose from, give your vehilce a bit of a lift- and they look bloody good too. Been running the Bridgsone 693 on my Rodeo with 'many' kms of offroad/desert/backroad touring with no probs.- and a good on blacktop also. Theres about 75000km on them at the moment- with lots of kms left. Seems to be a good combination for the size/weight of the Rodeo.I run 36 front & 30rear on the bitumen.
Have a good one
