Hi everyone,
Have been reading a bit on these Tyrealert Systems. Sounds like they could save quite a few problems over the long term.
I have had some exposure with them around Heavy equipment eg. Haul Trucks in mining field, but they weren't that reliable over extended periods, although slightly different.
Has anyone used or is using them at the moment as I would be interested in any feedback +/-.

Butts,
I have the Smartire series I system. $150 on eBay in USA. It allows me to constantly monitor temp and press in each wheel. Alarms when either drfits out of range. Great for peace of mind.
Shortcomings: only four
wheels monitored, so spares, trailer are not monitored. Series II overcomes this problem.
I haven't had a puncture since fitting the system, so I can't tell if it will prevent tyre loss yet but suspect it will.
I will never go on an extended bush trip without it now that I have experienced the benefits. Loss of tyres has always been one of my biggest problems and concerns - not any more.

I meant to add that a copper thought it was a radar detector and pulled me over.

Thanks for your feedback, Bob.
I have had about 6-7 shreaded tyres over the years, so anything that could have prevented only just one of these would have paid for itself.
The price I got was Au$525 from TyreAlert Management, from
Sydney.
Interested to see you imported fro US, will have a look.

That's a fair price for a series II.
