Hi
Looking for some info on what off road drives are possible around the
snowy mountains based in
Jindabyne and crossing over to Victoria. I've got some foreign friends over and want to take them off the beaten track a bit. We would be looking to do day treks getting back to
Jindabyne or possibly ending in Victoria for an o/n stay.
Any help would be appreciated.

Some good drives up onto Davies High Plains from
Tom Groggin, ending up at
Omeo or Corryong(?).
Down the Barry Way and back via the High Plains,

If you in the area drop in at the power stations . tumut 2 is great.
Corriong road over tumut pondage is a great road but it might not be open to mid december{ no one ever poughs it} .
Favourite town is
Bright in victoria .and it a quick run up the mountian to the snow fields.
Best
camping spot is
Geehi hut ....but watch out for the wombat paths when you pitch a tent .
If you want a good run from
canberra turn right go over
cotter dam,up to piccidilly circus, down to the bridge and turn left? I cannot rememberif you turn before or after the bridge and head south to
Adaminaby.{anyone remember?}
dont forget to poke your head into
Tom Groggin lovely spot
Is National parks still making you pay to do the Alpine way? Now that was a road in winter when it was dirt and snowing.
