A mate of
mine put an import 2.5 turbo diesel in his 93 Pajero after his blew up. Seemed to be fine however he sold it soon after so don't know longevity. It was a lot cheaper than rebuilding his.

Speak with Lance Swan, Japanese Commercial Dismantlers, 30 Cavan Road, Dry
Creek or call 1800 882 996. They import all kinds of engines and specialise in 4wd'r. I even saw a new one foe a Datto G60 last time I was there.

I usually use API engines in
Sydney.
Trevor is great to deal with.
I would research and see if you update the engine to a 2.8. Get rid of the timing belt tensioner dramas and cylinder head dramas.
