Morning all.
Well, after a couple of months prowling around this great website & learning a ton of info, I've finally bitten the bullet and joined up as a member. Just wanted to say g'day to all the people on this
forum - keep up the good work, and thanks to Michelle, David & Julianna for all their hard work in keeping this place going.
T-bone.
P.S. Didn't see any other Rangies in the member rigs -
well, someone's gotta be the first brave soul.... :)

Saw you were on the
members list this morning, was positive I used to see your name in the visitors list! Good on ya mate, look forward to seeing your rig!
Mate, I just bought a rangie (1976 3.5 4 speed) and got bent...
well, you know. Looking for a replacement motor at the moment. Any ideas?
cheers
Chris.

Yeah, keep away from
mine! LOL
Seriously, yeah I saw your post about the problems you've had. Can't really help you - I'm still running the original motor (nearly 300,000kms) and keeping my fingers crossed....{gulp}. Heard that you can fit the old Holden HSV 5.0L pretty easily though.
Only thing I could recommend is to get in touch with Rangie specialists and see if they can point you in the right direction - I used to be a
Melbourne lad & had my work done at Rangie Automotive in
Lilydale....

he he he! Nice one Baz...
I noticed a few posts ago that you've given up on the Exploder Explorer and wanna get something else. How's the search going? Wanna buy a 1990 Rangie driven by a little old lady to Church on Sundays? ;-)

The crossing is on the way too church is it, search is going slow have to sort a couple of things out first then we will start looking properly, ahh decisions, decisions, decisions these 4bs maybe good 4WDs but their comfort sucks compared to the Exploder. So far the Disco is in front for comfort and the fact that SWMBO likes them, i'm leaning towards the 4.2TD Patrol i must admit i do like the Disco.

Yeah, a good mate has got a Series 1 Disco TDi - it's done mostly city duties in
Melbourne, except for one big 3 month trip covering the Gunbarrel, CSR, GRR & back down the WA coast. So far, his has been faultless (touch wood), but there's plenty of stories about little things going wrong with Landies...No too many big drivetrain issues though. Good luck with the decision...

G'day to you T-bone and welcome aboard.
Hope you obtain all you wish from this Circus.
Only trouble is, all the useful information gained will drain your wallet if you wish to implement:-)

You're not wrong there! Mentally I've spent a bucketload, but through some sage advice on this
forum I've managed to keep the creditors at bay for a little while longer...

Welcome T-Bone,
your in good company down ACT way, lots of great blokes down there and boy do they know how to have fun
camping...just ask Paul :-)
Hey Baz, you planning on taking that machine gun with you next time we go bush? You can lead next time mate. Might come in handy
clearing those branches rather than having to listen to them scratch the paint work when driving through them ay.
