As promised I have the start of a website up detailing our recent outback trip.

Its a bit short on narrative but if a picture paints a thousand words hopefully its got enough to interest people.

There's a funky "Where Is That" feature that shows on a map where each photo was taken. It has a trip map that shows some info about each leg of the trip as well.

I'd be interested in any feed back but please note it still is a work in progress.

The link is in my Rig/Profile or Click Here

That's a great presentation Gaz. I really like the "Where is That?" function too.

Well done.

BTW, how long did you spend doing that trip?

Thanks Willem,

From a seasoned traveller and someone with a pretty swish website themselves - that's a particularly pleasing compliment.

Thanks again

Gaz,
Fantastic, good to see
given me the spur to go again
just got back from the high country in Vic for a week and had a ball
is there any way I can get even more info from you in regards to time spent in different spots etc.
Think I will encourage another family to do exactly the same with mine
Further info much appreciated

Thanks Malcolm,

Yeah I hope to continue to add stuff over time.

Wasn't sure how many people would enjoy reading about other people's adventures but it seems to have generated a bit of interest so I keep plugging away.

Gary well presented site, what sort of fuel economy did you get and would you recommend the upgraded suspension also does it level the vehicle a bit better ?

thanks

I averaged 16 L/100k for the trip.
generally 15L/100k on black top although got down to 13 going up the Stuart with a bit of a tail wind. Generally 18 on the gravel and as low as 26.4 crossing the desert.

Absolutely recommend a suspension upgrade on the 100 series. The factory suspension sags its butt big time after about 20,000ks The upgrade didn't level my truck as rear lifted about 50mm and the front about 30mm so it increased the rake by 20mm unloaded. Once I loaded it up for the trip it sat pretty well level as you can see from the photos on the site.

On the IFS model if money is tight then you might consider leaving the factory TBars in and just winding them up. Less issues with a warranty claim if the lower A Arm goes like some are experiencing.

Thanks Chris. I've been working on it on the train (laptop) on the way home and a little bit a lunch time. I guess I've spent 20-25 hours on it.
