I am heading to Shallow Crossing, on the Clyde River, this weekend. I was wondering if anyone has been there? I am hoping to do some fishing and 4wding.
Any recommendations of
places to
camp, things to see or do would be appreciated?
It will be just me and the dog so if anyone wants to join us feel free to come along.
Cheers

Mate there is a
camping grounds along the river if you do not want the comfort of the van parks near by. Fishing is good as long as the skiers keep it down and the 4WD is good on old forestry tracks that can join up and take you all the way to
Moruya.
I grew up down that way and had a ball on Motor bikes riding around that area and to the south. Good luck and I wish I was you

Thanks Mick,
I will look at those
camp grounds along the river, as I would prefer not to stay in van parks.
Cheers

If you have time pop into the
Batemans Bay Info centre, they have the South Coast Forest Map, has most of the tracks in that area right down past Bendethera/Deua NP.
Mogood
Lookout is great to get a view of Pidgeon House Mountain, the Castle right round to the ocean.
Would love to come but on shift this weekend, bugger!!

The Shallow Crossing
Camping Ground is pretty good too - if you stay there, make sure you look at the area on the left of the road (ie opposite side of the office), and then go as close to the
water as you can - it will take you into a nice little hollow that is worth staying (and if it is windy, as it can be, will give you a lot of protection.
The manager will give you a map (maybe the same one Steve is talking about), which has got a few tracks, and also give advice on which ones to have a shot at.

And just a km or so past the crossing itself, there is a great "pick-your-own" berry farm. Yum :)

Rohan,
What type of berries are we talking here?
It appears that there will be plenty of things to keep me busy.
Heading off early in the morning, hopefully the rain clears.
