Hi All
I am looking for names of people who do GPS training around Melbourne. I am in a fishing club and want someone to show the members how to work and benifits of gps units as well for us who do a bit of four wheel driving.

Hi Tim, Just got off the phone to Brian of GPSOZ here in sydney.
He suggested you contact Jonh Cullen from a place called Time Plus. Sorry phone number wasnt available at time of call.
But its a good start. Also maybe consider doing it through clubs

If you have a favourite gps dealer who actually knows his stuff I would have thought it would be well worth his while taking an evening out and bringing his wares to the club and showing every one the advantages of gps and how they work from etrex right up to mapping software

John from Time Plus is excellent. A couple of months after I bought my GPS from him, I was invited to an instruction session organised by John, but it was actually run buy one of the reps from GME Electrophone, who are the distributors for Garmin GPS.

Also, I'm just remembering that when we bought the GPS for the Fire Brigade, we dealt with a company that was extremely helpful as well. I'll see if I can dig there details

Theres a Johnny Appleseed shop in Melb now, I got my GPS from them and they were tremendously helpful from the Brisbane shop, went into the Melb shop and guy was starting to learn his stuff but shiuld be good by now, golly I reckon I could teach how to / what to after having one for a while now.

My Etrex came from Jonny Appleseed in Brisbane and I'm pretty sure they say they will teach you how to use it if you want them too.

They also install updates for free if you are unable if you bought it from them.

Tim, I'm not sure where you are in Victoria, but there is a guy in Narre Warren who does GPS training through the Chisolm and other TAFE colleges. I have his name and phone No if you are interested.
Regards Andrew.
