Evening All ,

After I towed mine and my mates Trak Shaks out of the Bendethera Valley , I could smell the overheated slushbox in my 100 TD .

Is it possible to fit some kind of transmission oil cooler ? Have any of you guys done it ? Can anybody recommend a company that does this in Sydney ?

Thanks ,

Willie .

You can buy them at most auto parts places, they fit in the line from the auto before it enters the radiator, not particularly hard to do just fiddly.
Also leads to an increase in ATF capacity which helps too.
Most Auto trans workshops should be able to fit one.
Whereabouts in sydney are you, I'm in Hornsby and can recommend a place up here.

No guys I'm not watching it either. What a waste of good tv time. Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. Is there such a thing as good tv time???

If there is it is certainly not Idol.

Really the only place to Idle is down a steep hill.

Peter ,

Not dumb - just a man in a hurry .

What is the net result of being PM'ed ? Pre menstrual ? Prime Minister ? Post Mistress ? I am at a loss !

Like your wagon - do you find it a tight squeeze down some tracks ?

No its is actually only 200mm (8 inches for old farts) wider than your 100 series so fits ok, most tracks are made for fire trucks so are plenty wide enough.
Mind you 100's and GU's drivers wander a bit so that keeps the tracks wide enough too ;-)))

LOL!! I sent you a Personal Message, the icon will be flashing at the top of the screen for you to click on.
Can't stand it!!
I actually don't watch TV much, The Bill twice a week and that's it, lifes too short to spend it in front of the tv.
The place where I get my auto's serviced and any work done (I got them to do some work on the Humvee when I first got it) is Martins Automatic Transmissions in Hunter st in Hornsby. phn 9476 5836, tell them Peter with the Humvee sent you.
It is only small shop but they know their stuff.
I've sent a few bods from the Hornsby Kuringai 4wd club there too.

G'Day Willie

I have just bought a 100 series cruiser and intend to tow a Caravan with it.

It is an auto, and it was recomended to me to put a transmission cooler on it.
anyway to cut a long story short.
The local automatic transmission place here can supply and fit one for $258.00
I would suggest you find an automatic workshop and get one fitted they are not dare (nowhere near as expensive as a transmission overhaul).

Hi Japmel ,
Thanks for the price info . That is very reasonable . Who recommended that you should have one when you towed the van . Was it a Toyota dealer ?
Thanks ,
Willie .

I took the cruiser to a Diesel maintenence place to get checked out before I bought it and told them what I intended to use it for,
They told me I should put a transmission cooler on it. So I asked the Toyota dealer where I bought it and he agreed.
I haven't had it done yet as I only picked it up today but it will be done very soon. Defenitly before I tow anything.
I got the price to supply and fit it from an automatic transmission workshop.

I hope this helps you
