TAMBO Cooper Camper Trailer

Richard, I'm not really qualified to answer, as I haven't yet taken delivery of the Tambo I've ordered. However, some of the issues that swung me towards the Tambo include:
1. Quality of canvas work and trailer (despite minor issues you already know about)
2. Decent gap between wheels and mudguards (greater than some trailers with alco suspension).
3. I like the layout of the unit and the simplicity of the way it packs up.
4. Low cost of the basic unit that I can then add to myself, and no pressure to upgrade with options.
5. Helpful customer service prior to ordering.
6. Willingness to listen to my ideas/needs and adapt construction (within reason).

Hope this is helpful. I should be a more experienced owner after holidays in January (if Santa brings me my Tambo for Christmas :-).

I fully endorse RobbG's comments, Looked long and hard at many CT, but always came back to Tambo. Keith is very easy to talk to and discuss any mods you may need to have done etc. Price wise, you can't beat them, Quality wise, the same. I pick mine up in mid Jan. Hope this helps.

I have had a Tambo for two years and haven't found any of the problems you raised.

The other day I went to Tambo to pick up a bedroom we ordered and mentioned that someone on EO raised issue of leaking locks on toolbox. They advised steps have been taken together with their lock supplier to stop this.

As far as leaking in first rain, they said this can happen that is why they recommend wetting down before use. Mine didn't leak a drop !!!

You will go a long way to find better value for the money.

PS I bought a copy of the Campertrailer Guide the other day and Tambo was given a huge wrap by none other than Ron Moon.

I have a Tambo Cooper.... in short.. Bloody Awsome!!

- great product - any canvas tent can leak if not treated correctly - but mine did not leak at all. As far as dust sealing, I have not had an issue, I have had it river crossing at depths well over the wheels... and all stayed dry inside.

I don't have a toolbox - I elected to use the space for other things - so I can't really comment here, but the underbody spray on mine is fine.

Tows well, Well balanced and solid.

I am in Victoria so not many trips over lots of corrigations to judge it on - but my belief is pretty much anywhere I can get my fourby... the trailer will happily follow behind.

Do your research but definitely keep these Campers as a serious contender. I really doubt you will find a better trailer with the sort backup service that is provided by Keith and Amanda for anything close to the price.
