Good morning all. I haven't asked for help for a long while and I think someone will be able to help us here. We are looking for a non-powered camping spot on a lake suitable for sailing and swimming etc to replace the area at Myall Lakes where we have been going for 20 years but is now being developed ( read that destroyed) in the interests of big bucks. Up to 6 hours drive from Sydney is OK.Another Myall Lakes would be great. Thanks.

Ian,
Dunn's Swamp at Kandos is nice.(Wollemi National Park). Go through Lithgow and take the Mudgee turn off and take the signs to Kandos/Rylston.
It's actually Kandos Wier; Drop toilets, can go boating, swimming and plenty of nice walks. It does get VERY busy during holidays.

ian i assume you are talking about the recent 'development' (read that as being destroyed also) at either Myall Shores Camp.. or Yagon Camp.
there are still PLENTY of other areas t camp in, around and on the Myall Lakes that remain 'un-touched'!. check out National Parks & Widlife website and check out map on all Campsite for Myall Lakes NP...
