Hi All,

I'm heading down to Maldon, Vic ( from sydney) this weekend and was looking at an overnighter at the lake for a spot of fishing. Looking at the map I'm considering via Mansfield. Any suggestions?

Thanks
Andy

Andy,

Scrub worms with a light running sinker, and walk the bank casting lures at structure, plenty of Yellas around.

Oh the best way for you to get there?????????? No Idea..(-:

Thanks Browny,
Vic is all new territory for me and I thought I'd give it a go while time allows, although only one night.
I like the million stars concept.......
by the water, waiting for the whir of the reel, aaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhh

Hi Toonfish,
no boat this trip. Yep it seems worms or little yabbies are the go. I read on the Vic fishing site that a bloke ws catching big carp with the big yab's, I'll give the garden a work over and see how they bite on my specials. Got a mate breeding his own yab's so he's getting a visit real soon.

Dodger,

I'll only be there Fri' nt, till mid morn' Sat. I'll be looking for ya and listening on Ch40 U. Me in White slowlux Xcab and canopy.

Cheers

and Fozzy, thanks for the info. Searched last nt and viewed the park map, hey what do you know? I wrote Goughs Bay/ rd, Walsh rd and plantation rd down for a possible visit, so your suggestions will see me hit this area. I'll stop at a servo to pic up a licence, now that IS convenient.

wisey
can read that as you are looking for somewhere to stay or where to fish?
camping?
can go in via walshes rd which can give access to lake
from mansfield head towards jamieson but turn off towards "the pines" / gouffs bay
about 4km from gouffs bay is walshes rd
camping all along this rd and can actually get almost op the dam wall
not much water in lake at moment but certainly enough for fishingdepends if taking boat etc
can also fish from bonnie doon-there is water flowing under bridge
from mansfield can go to lake via howes crk rd which takes you to walshes rtd but prob wont be much water at that point at moment
as a plus along walshes rd are some reasonable 4wd tracks-probably not best attempted when wet
enjoy
