Hi all,
Expressions of interest are sought for doing a Beadell trip. Plan at this stage is after the NSW school holidays- the latter part of July 2005.
Proposed route from
Coober Pedy- Anne Beadell- Connie Sue-
Warburton- Old Gunbarrel- Ayers Rock. Estimated duration 10 days.
We have had a bit of Outback touring, including Simpson crossing, CSR, Flinders &
Gammon Ranges, most of SA deserts and even a full mainland circumnavigtion.
Well prepared vehicle with HF facilities. Located SW
Sydney NSW.
Another 1 or 2 vehicles would make the trip safer..and more interesting.
We, SWMBO and me, are easy to get along with and enjoy our trips.
I have done quite a bit of research on fuel availablity and conditions with
camp sites.
Let me know via
forum if you're half keen- and we can communicate via email.

Signman,
We did exactly the same route this year, and we took 17 days to complete it, although two days were rest days.
Did you know fuel is available at
Ilkurlka roadhouse?
They need prior warning though.
Geoff.

Hi Squizzy
Yes- I am aware of the fuel situation at Ilkurlka 'roadhouse' .
The intended days from
Coober Pedy would be:
Tallaringa Well/Emu/ Vokes Hill/ Un-named Conseration Park/ Somewhere/ Neales Jnctn/ Waterfall Gorge/ On the Gunbarrel/ Giles/ Ayers Rock.
Average distances on the 'desert'sections about 140km per day with time to check out
places of interest incl. Ground Zero/Beadell history/ Serpentine/ Plane crash etc.
Your comments and information (especially 'must not miss' points) would be welcome!!
Thanks

signman, I'm travelling through that area in August so I'll ask a favour. Can you please smooth out the corrugations and clear the scrub away from the side of the track please.
PS don't forget your permits.
