Hi all
I now have a draft intinerary for the 3-week trip immediately following my 40th birthday party in Oodnadatta on June 12th, 2005 (to which you are all invited). If you are available between June 13th and July 1st 2005, and would like to see the West MacDonnells, Kings Canyon, Uluru/Kata Tjuta, Alice Springs, Dalhousie Springs, Simpson Desert, Birdsville and much more, I can now email you the current version of the itinerary.
Hit me off list via jiarna at bigpond dot com for a copy.
Cheers
John

From Oodnadatta to Dalhousie Springs on the morning of the 13th, then to Mt Dare and Old Andado Track to Mac Clarke Acacia Peuce Conservation Park for the night. You'll be coming down via Finke I assume, so me may see you if you get far enough south on the 13th. Time will tell.
Cheers
John

Hi Michael
Sounds like you were unlucky. We haven't lost a windscreen yet, but wrecked 2 tyres (Grandtrek AT2 - not called Banglops for nothing!!) in the 2 years we've been here.
If you already know about tyre pressures, ignore this paragraph:
When on the Oodnadatta Track or similar roads with sharp gibbers on the surface, you will get less tyre failures if you drop the pressures 8-10 psi from what you run on the blacktop. Works for me, and all the locals around here.
Cheers
John
