Not quite Phil....to be more precise it goes from
Ceduna to
Malbooma Siding which is on the Trans Australain Railway Line.
Please take note that both
Tarcoola and
Kingoonya are ghost towns with no facilities

Hi Willem,
Yeah, I was going to write
Malbooma but it usually doesn't appear on a map. I think the top end has been realigned now so you no longer drive straight past the
homestead. Its a nice little jaunt - might do it agian this year.
Cheers
Phil

For safety reasons, its preferred that you travel north from the
Ceduna end. The track is a bit overgrown in
places, so is only single lane. The National Parks people ask you travel this way. Also the dunes can have lips on their northern face.

The recomendation is to go up but as this often doesn't suit some peoples travel plans, it can be done down. Just travell a little slower, monitor the appropiate UHF chanel (?) & fit a flag.
Cheers Craig.........

Just recently done this. Preferred is South to North. People have driven on the track without letting down their tyres and there is some big dips on the dunes if you are coming from the North. If you are going to come the other way I would suggest you have a very tall sand flag for the dunes because 99% of the traffic will be coming toward you (if anyone else is on it). Enjoy it a good drive.
