I'm planning a weekend trip to the Brindabella's from Sydney. Can anyone recommend any interesting tracks and a good spot to camp?

Thanks, Alfred (4WD ADDICT)

Alfred,
on the ACT side the only legit place to camp is at Cotter reserve. You can access things easily from there. I have camped in the pine forests but the area is crawling with crazies, rapists and murderers. Keep an eye out for suicides and dumped bodies.

So thats where all the locals go for holidays when they are not at home in Bankstown. I always wondered about that !

Yeah....although since the fires a lot of the loonies have had to leave because their cover has burnt down...but stay away from the forrestry sellements because even though they were destroyed they are still a "meeting place" for the more undesirable societal elements. A mate who is a firefighter says that during the fires millions of $$$$ of funny bushes were destroyed....Still it is a nice place some good tracks but i'm not sure if they are open.. All the public roads are open but the firetrails are patroled and some have locked gates

Steve, I checked out the links. Not much on track recommendation. Would greatly apreciate some trip details from yourself, considering you practically live next door to the Brindabellas.
Thanks, Alfred.

When are you going? Do you have any maps?
The LCool Act group are organising a trip in the area on Australia Day. If your around I'm sure you will be welcome to join us. Some moderate 4wd will be involved (heavy ruts etc) & even more if slightly wet.

Cheers
Richard
