Hello fellow ExplorOzites, I thought I'd pick your brains to try and find a source for these boxes. I've attached a link to a photo I scanned out of a magazine, so if anyone knows the trade name and company that makes them, I can track down a supplier. I'm going to
Cairns and Townsville at the end of the month, and I hope to pick one up then.

Yep, ARB is a source that I know of.
I believe they are called Space Cases.

space case is from
melbourne, if in Townsville, there is a company here that makes them
http://www.gough.com.au/tuffabox.htm
Both brands are great, I use space cases, not cheap, but they last a life time, and make camping so much easier.

Yep, Space case.
Got 3.
One fell out of the back of one of my 4 x 4's at 50 km/h, and was all right.
I wouldn't go as far as saying they are water proof, but if you use some more foam tape, they become pretty damn good.

If any of you took much notice when they showed TV footage recently of the army dudes packing up shyte-loads of gear to take over to SE Asia, they had stacks and stacks of these brilliant cases filled with gear.
I'd love to know what's gunna happen to all those boxes once they're empty; probably just get turfed.....what a shame.

Scott,
Try Elders in Townsville or
Cairns, might be cheaper than ARB or similar outlets.
We got a couple from Elders in
Winton. They call 'em Space Cases, as
well.
Hooroo...

Thanks heaps everyone. I saw the "Space Cases" on the Glenfords website. They look the business. I'll ring around and see if I can find a deal ;)
I also saw the news clip of the tsunami aid getting packed into the cases. Believe me, they will not go to waste over there! I spent some years in Indo, and nothing much goes to waste, especially quality cases like those.
Cheers, Scott

Trimcast in melb make the space-cases, i dont know if they sell direct but it might be worth a shot, cut out the middle fat a bit.
Roachie, yeah i know what you mean, i saw one of the charities unloading some gear in these awesome aluminium boxes, looked tough as. The army use a lot of the trimcast product.
