I'm after some struts to allow me to fit a board under the bed in the camper to allow me to lift the bed to get at the space underneath to improve my storage. Strut thingies like those that hold the bonnet of your car up.

Anyone know where you can get them in Melbourne.

Thanks,

Jim.

Morning Jimbo,

what about going to the wreckers? Not sure if you have a concept design but I would imagine there would be plenty to look at and ponder over. Good luck, interesting idea.

Jimbo I got all such things when building my trailer at UES pty ltd in Scorsby.
They will work out for you the compresion needed to lift your bed and the stroke, and even tell you how to position it.
The phone number is in the white business pages but here it is 9763 4400
good luck,
P.S. are you lifting just the bed or will it be occupied, and by how many.

Thanks 89GQ,

From the above replies about compression and stroke this sounds like the way to go.

Thanks,

Jim.

Hi Jim, I have struts on my Tambo which support a board from under the bed. They are strong enough to hold up the QS foam mattress and bedding. Do you want the numbers off them?

Do you also want a pic with some measurements to make mounting easier?

and I'll get it to you.
