Yep..Our little group (mostly ex-skydivers and ex-army) are all grouping in Birdsville for the ANZAC weekend..One from WW-2,some from VietNam,some from regular army(mainland). One of our crew Sully) is a well known there (a legend)..Willie Kempen,in his www diary May 2004 mentions having Sully and his dog Smokey,as his neighbour in Birdsville caravan park.Sully 81yrs,was driving his 1989 Toyota Sahara t/diesel and towing his diy trailer with sleeping quarters for dog in plastic kennel outside and bunk for "the master" inside.Water tanks, lites etc.Got time on your hands..See you there!

Heck! No!..We were lucky to push for enough time to do the w/e..But that would be good. When I was 12 we had a 50,000acre cattle property and we had to do a two droving trip to get our cattle to the saleyards. No road-trains then.Anyway,a road-train (even a semi) would not have made it through our two wheeltracks road.Just the width of our car.No more.Birdsville Studio ? Is that a place we should check-out while there.

Pelham,On Dogwood Creek which is the creek you cross on the bridge near the servo at Miles..I think it was 35,000 acres when we go it and Dad bought another paddock 19,000 acres towards Miles. We normally came in from the Chinchilla end down the Forestery fire-breaks to Barakula then the 28 miles (corrugated from timber jinkers.Cypress & Spotted Gum) to Chinchilla.Pelham used to be on Shell maps. Not now ? Maybe re-incorparated into the larger Wongongerra Station.Us kids found molten glass under homestead.First house had burnt down.Went there years ago.Our home had also burnt down..They better build out of Besserâ„¢ block next time.Cypress burns like metho.
