The sad pert about this
forum these days is that it has degenerated to a series of "Dorothy Dixer's" ie tyres, batteries, dual batt. systems, solar systems, hot water from your exhaust pipe ad nauseum.
Gone are the robust debates (without insult) that promoted stimulus of thought and generated awareness of what this country (outback, bush, people of) is all about. Some of the rigs you see around the country these days are obviously set up with the philosophy that "
mine is bigger/faster/meaner" than yours so take notice blah blah. Never mind that its never been further off the road than the local footy ground and the owner cant find low range.
I saw a set up recently that must have cost an absolute packet, and asked the driver about his rig. I was invited to not be a smart @rse, what would I know about 4wd,ing etc... ( I was with a friend in his Suzi.) we saw him the next day bogged to the belly in dry sand on
the beach, we were coming back from fishing. So I proved I am a smart @rse. We snatched that lump out with the Suzi and left him scratching his head. I could have pointed out that centipedes arn't the very best tyres for sand, but who cares when you cop the attitude?
Yep, posts will continue to go missing from this
forum, these days we have to watch what my old mum called "p's and q's" now commonly known as the "thought police". But there are also more interesting pastures to graze upon. Tis true -- thats life!
