I know we are following up posts on Murray Sunset on Willems Mally root post , but I just wanted to thank all who helped get Gregs car back on trhe road . Also to let you all know that he called to let me know he got the car home safely

Broke all the top ball joint bolts , ripped the bottom ball boint out . Ripped out the brake line & and the wheel ended up under the car held on by the tie rod end .

Thanks to some bolts from Glenn and Jim getting his hands dirty lol We managed to remove the CV shaft , re insirt the bottom ball , into it's socket , clamp off the brake line with vice grips and then zip tie the clamps to the chassis . Find afew bolts to re bolt the top ball goint up , he was able to limp the car home .

Move over Bush machanic's and make way for team EO

John, Truckster and I were stopped about 30k's from the camp having lunch in the heat when Greg pulls up asking directions. He was blabbering about driving around in circles, how much fuel he'd used and stated that this is his first and last camping trip. Gotta say I felt rather sorry for him.

Ok , you want to go on a trip , you leave home withought a map into a area you have never been to . You dont take enough fuel , or ask what fuel you will need . Yep , i guess you can blame everyone else for that lol

lol....hopefully he learnt a lesson and will prepare better next time...that's if is there is a next time. Even Truckster didn't follow the directions I gave him to Pink Lakes....he went sailing on north past Ouyen instead of turning west.

I think after the initial shock , he recoverd and now understands what going bush and Desert means, he had a good time in the end and is looking forward to the next trip.

He is alway unprepaired for trip's and dosnt take advise well lol . So I let him go, so he can understand how important it is to ask questions so you can be prepaired .
From chatting with him today , I think he has gathered what outback is all about . Even though this wasnt really outback lol

Aahh thats good to hear. Was wondering about all those clunking noises under the Mrs Bushie. Sounds like you had an EO Mechanics Convention on the track.

You have kept the name of Bushmechanics high!!!!! LOL

OK enough small talk. I broke it, I'm gonna fix it & I'm gonna jump it higher next time.
Thanks to all for an enjoyable first ever camping experience. Got the WAECO on order for the next trip, looking forward to it.
Thank you Eric & the others for helping me get back on the road. Next time I'll bring a map & some spare parts (wheels, axles, engine etc.)
Waiting to see some of those photo's & that vid Eric.
