rooftop tents

i am going to the red centre for 2weeks and would like yto hire a roof top tent for my 80 seies. i have researched heaps of models but would prefer trying one before spending a couple of thou. does anyone know where in or around melbourne i can hire one???

I know of one in Sydney which is shipshap they are terrific we bought one we have done the simpson dessart it just like sleeping in your own bed at home

Give Hans at OpenSky a call. They import the EezyAwn *which we have and highly recommend) as well as Howling Moon. I'm not positive about it, but I believe that they can arrange hire through one of their distributors.

Have you seen the one that looks like one of those pod things that some people use to cart gear around? Can't think of the name of it now but we had a couple with one on our recent Easter trip. I have never seen anything so quick to set up - just release the catch at it popped up itself (has gas struts). Unit is dust and waterproof.
