We are going for a run up through the
corner country and we have a petrol/gas trol in our group, so am looking at fuel availability for unleaded and deisel, the maps show fuel at, Nocundra Thargominda
Eulo Hungerford Bourke Louth and
Tilpa, and was wondering if the EO experts on this
forum could confirm some of these outlets so i dont have to ring them and
check.
Cheers Pesty

Hi Pesty,
Not sure about the unleaded, but diesel at Noccundra, Thargominda,
Eulo (as at 23 March 05) & should be no problems at
Bourke.
If you can be sure and call on Ken at the
Eulo Queen Hotel ( Camping available on grass at the rear of the hotel)
PS mind the cows that roam around town at
Eulo, sure looked funny them eating the grass nature strip beside the phone booth.
cheers

Petsy
Louth,
Tilpa and
Bourke all have fuel of both kinds available but no lpg at
louth or
Tilpa. There is some nice camping spots along the Darling between
Bourke and
Tilpa.Be out there myself next week for a
well deserved rest.
See ya

Thanks Glenn,
Are looking for a spot around
Tilpa, if you are able to think of one, spoke to a mate who lives at
Cobar and fishes the river a lot and sounds like the cockies have closed a lot of the access to the river.
Thanks mate for your info
Cheers

Petsy
About 5km north of
Tilpa there is a wier where you can
camp.If there is no one behind the pub on the other side of the river you can sometimes
camp there too.

Pesty,
If you call the tourist info in
Bourke they will give you information on the
Darling River Run. It includes information and contacts for a number of stations where you can
camp along the river between
Bourke and
Wentworth. Near
Tilpa, Killara staion has some very nice visitor accomodation available as
well as camping.
Also if you can be in
Louth at sunset ask at Shindy's Inn about the refelction from the gravestone, they'll know what I mean. It is a fascinating story and
well worth seeing.
Duncs.
