Hi everyone,

wondering if someone has any ideas or contacts or know of anyone from Sydney who might be coming to Melbourne. We need to to transport a second hand long range tank to Melb for the cruiser that Al's building. The tank is actually located in Summerland Point which is near Lake Macquarrie, the tank is empty and has been washed, but courier companies won't touch it as it's considered a dangerous good, and needs to be cleaned professionally, if someone is willing to pick it up and bring it down or knows of someone can you email us, the addy is under the rig pic.

cheers

Lyn

The only ideas that come to mind are interstate truckies. The actial blikes not the companies. I know one but can't get on to him, I just tried to call when I saw your post. He's not super reliable but if he picks it up he will eventually get it to you depending on his jobs.

Can't be that hard.

Why dont you get the people in Summerland Point to wrap it in cardboard. That way no-one knows what it is. It's not that dangerous. Is it?

LOL, needs to be fairly reliable, as Al needs to get it into his car,

problem with wrapping it up could be that, even though it's empty and has been washed it still my smell like a fuel tank, and I also suspect that transport companies these days would check fairly closely what they're carrying, or rather, they should be checking.... :)

An empty recepticle is as dangerous as a full one until it is de-gassed or what ever they do according to dangerous goods laws, big risk to take by the person consigning the goods as ultimately they are liable if something goes wrong.
might be easier to find someone's cousin's mate's half brother and ask them.
My wife is flying up in early may but I think Jetstar might take a dim view of the idea!!!
Good luck,

Diesel? or Petrol? Don't think it really matters, i had a HJ75 tank couriered to me 2 weeks ago, not a problem.
Might just be petty eastern states operators.

Good luck with it

Lyn,

How soon do you need the tank ?

I am heading up north of Sydney next weekend so I might be able to do something for you re pickup of tank.

I'm driving Syd to Melb mid June, is that to late ?? Let me know.

Cheers,
Stuart
