Broughton River is really nice. Enter in from
Yacka, and watch your odo, 'cause the sign is missing.
Bunyip Park...... forget it, it's just a little triangle of land on the southern end of Koolunga, and had no amenities as of January this year.
Also might want to try Appilla Springs, just north of
Laura, really good.

At Broughton River, water all year round, and lots of reeds. BIG trees everywhere, so lots of shade, and it's also protected from the winds, because it's down low.
Yes, Koolunga will direct you, but Pesty's directions are spot on.
Appilla Springs is a smaller version of the above, but no river as such to speak of. Good
toilet at the top car park, lots of trees down the bottom to
camp near.
Locals at
Laura will tell you the way to get there.

We had a look at Bunyip Park on the way through Koolunga. They now have a new
toilet block and a powered site for a caravan. Would be OK for a quick stop if you were passing through, but why would you be passing through Koolunga??
Cheers

Hi Paj
Yes you can
camp on broughton river, come to
Blyth ( where i am) from
balaklava and then onto brinkworth, go through town, and when you come to left curve in road, several
miles out of town, go onto gravel and continue nth in straight line as you were on blacktop, keep going straight over
intersection onto dirt road and when road runs out veer left and turn right at "t"
junction , go about a k and you will come to a ford, broughton river, popular
camp spot over river on lhs with brand new
toilets on opposite side of road, area called
white cliffs by local, bunyip park only
picnic area, but you may be able to
camp behind town on river, never had a look.
When you going there? give me a call on mobile if you get lost, number behind rig
pic.

Pesty,
Thanks for the great directions - they were spot on. We spent the long weekend camped at
White Cliffs on the low patch past the little
picnic area. It was a nice quiet time in a great spot. We were amazed at the amount of water in the river after such a dry summer and autumn.
Thanks again,
Paj
