Hi all
We are going to be visiting ayres
rock and
kings canyon sometime between16th-21st June, don't really want to book just in case we are running early or late. Has anybody been to these spots at that time of the year? I'm assuming its pretty busy, and is it advisable to book a spot or is it generally pretty safe to get something if we just
rock up.

Hi barnzzi,
We're going to be in the same place a week or two later and also don't want to be pinned down to set dates either. I have already emailed the major campsites and they all said if we want powered sites we need to book
well inadvance, but not for unpowered sites. We're tenting and don't need power, so we're fine. All the best and have a great time.

Just
rock up Barnzzi,
The Caravan Parks at both locations are quite a decent size.
The one near Ayres
Rock is actually about 12 k's from
the Rock itself.
Recommend the walk around the rim of
Kings Canyon. We regarded it as one of the highlights of our trip to the NT. And if you're game, wear your bathing togs under your clothes. There's a great swimming hole to cool off in.

Know what you mean Davoe.
When we were at
Katherine Gorge, swimming at the Waterfall, a
young and attractive European woman changed from her wet bathers back into her clothes right in front of us.
Even the elbow in the ribs from SHMBO couldn't take the grin off my face. Ahhh! ya just gotta love it don't you.

At
Yulara you will find the expression "sardines in a can" takes on a whole new meaning at this time of the year. Thats not always a bad thing if you like meeting your fellow campers...forceably :)) However you'll enjoy the facilities and
the Rock will blow you away if it's your first visit. Every first timer mistakes Mt Connor for
the Rock btw. When you first sight it just remember that you still have a long way to go.

Hi barnzzi
We'll be there about the same time. Dunno what your rig looks like, so check my rig pic and look for the EO stickers if you want to catch up for a chat.
Cheers
John

OK
Look for the silver LC80 with homemade roof rack and a
water tank made of 150mm stormwater pipe. And of course a dozen EO stickers all over it!!
Unless our itinerary gets reshuffled (as it usually does LOL) we plan to be in the Uluru area June 19-21.
Cheers
John (plus Anita,
Laura 9, Claire 5, and number 3 on the way)

Hi
John
We are presently aiming to be there 18th, 19th, 20th June. But as you say things change. Our Kids are Jemma (5), Ellie(2) and Will (10mnths) and husband Scott. We are suppose to be leaving
home (
Cobar) on 6th June, travelling to
flinders ranges N.P.,
Gammon ranges N.P, Lake
eyre area,
Coober Pedy, then ayres
rock etc etc. However our ten month old has just started teething and he's really suffering with it. So we're thinking if it all gets to hard we'll turn around at
Coober pedy and try again this time next year.
Do you have a tent, camping trailer or caravan?? Hope you have a comfy bed for Anita, we went camping when I was 6months pregnant with Ellie and I was on blow up air mattress, It was not an enjoyable experience.
Anyway we will look out for you guys. We have a basket on top of our pajero, NSW number plates. You'll probably hear us coming before you see us (ha, ha).

Hi Kate,
We are heading to the

Curtin Springs. The price is right and no booking required (unpowered).
