On the 'Meadow Flat' topo map I have it indicates there is a camping area near the tennis courts at Sunny Corner. On the State Forest map there is also a campsite called Marys Peak on the other side of town. Anyone camped here before?

I am heading out there this weekend and will try to get to Sunny Corner Friday night. I don't want to be driving around too long in the dark looking for a suitable camping spot.

Thanks in advance

Have camped at both places. the Sunny corner camp site is a nice grassed open site. However the toilets were disgusting. Very dirty and flies everywhere. The camp site at Mary's Peak was also a picturesque site. It was a few years ago and as far as I can remember there were no toilet facilities.

Thanks Brooksy,

I am going to be arriving late at night so I might just go for that first site. Hopefully the toilets have been cleaned up a bit.

I just checked the maps again and it is Marys Park not Marys Peak. Must have thought I was back in the Flinders.

Cheers

Was out there a couple of weeks ago, camped at the arboretum about 1 k past marys park on the bathurst side. Marys park is right on the side of the road with no facilities. There was a group of about 40 camped there with about 20 horses so if you get there late watch where you camp. Horse s#1t everywhere!
No facilities at the arboretum either but a nice campsite just off the road.

Also less than a 1k further on going towards the Kirkconnell correctional centre there's another campsite called the Arboretum there's a little bridge thats over the ditch at the entrence thats where you go in a little smaller but away from the road, it's basicly a few small areas in the one place no facilities except maybe a old drop toilet that hasn't been used in 30yrs.

There is a lot of roadwork going on there at the moment as the're widening the road.

These are a couple of pix of the Arboretum
