Just wondering what sort of milage figures users are getting out of their 4.5l autos for petrol and/or gas?
I am getting about 18.5l / 100km country and 22.5l / 100km city on ULP and about 22.5l / 100km country on LPG.
The rig seems to have plenty of oomph on take-off but struggles to maintain speed up hills and seems sluggish during overtaking from 90 plus kph?

just had mine (100 series 4.5 6 cyl) done over a week ago so early days yet. I live just over an hour north of Sydney and only got 335ks out of a tank (26.8l/100) but that was driving down the freeway @110+ and the rest of the day driving in heavy traffic around town. Tanked up to 91 ltrs for $35 though> I'm heading up to the Whitsudays in early July towing 1.5 tons. I s'pose I'll have to swictch to ulp going up the hills but I'd expect to save a bundle even though lpg is 50c+ up there.

I get 19.8l/100 cruising to work and back over the Blue Mountains (Mt Vic pass and River Let Hill twice a day) in my 96 80series cut into a dual cab whilst running on gas. It definately runs heaps better on gas as the computer has to relearn how to run properly on petrol again when I switch it over so the only way mine will go up a hill better on petrol is if I switched it over about 10min before the hill!! On ULP (not premium like I should) I get 14l/100km. The conversion was only done 5000km ago and the power is improving every day probably as the petrol/ carbon deposits slowly burn out of the combustion chamber and it is definately smoother and quieter. For those who want to know Katoombe and Medlow bath the price of LPG is 42 to 43 cpl.

Sorry forgot to mention it is a GXL manual with 285 series tyres that gear it up,3" susp and 2" body lift and alloy tray wider than the body also causing drag so I would expect better milage from most other 80 series.

Mines a Patrol , but incomparison , slightly less then that. 16/100 country , and 20/100 City. That 18.5 & 22.5 is about what I get towing my CT (of approx 650 kg).
