as a blues man it pains me to say that the best team won (ah sacrilege).

I was surprised Pricey got MOM, I thought Kimmorley was QLDs best player :-( his field kicking was atrocious compared to Lockyer.

the blues one off running was appalling, whereas those mangy maroons looked enterprising and inspired.

however, its obvious the blues can only get better and will craft their way to easy wins over the next two games.

I reckon Kimmorley is still the man. He just needs to think he's playing a club game.

Otherwise move Barrett to half and bring Anasta in.

give kimorley the job of water boy, bring in Gower or Orfett or a host of other halfbacks who could do a better job of it than Kimorley, even John's as he is would go better, at least he has a brain.Get rid of the dimwitted selectors who opt for players who can't handle the big games and fall to pieces and someone who can coach the players to offload and back up the man trying to make a break and not just one out all of the time. Queensland deserved to win, they had an ace up their sleeve "Kimorley".
get rid of the Kimorley factor, although if he comes good in the next game I will apologise.

I watched it from start to finish and even as an Aussie Rules devotee I have to say it was very entertaining and a great advertisement for the game of Rugby League. One thing that had me in hysterics was the interviews with a number of players and the Queensland coach directly after match. In the space of three minutes I managed to count the word "mate" FIFTY-TWO TIMES. Their coaching to play league is obviously very good, but their coaching for self presentation must be deplorable. In the AFL, with the help of intensive coaching even Matthew Lloyd and Anthony Rocca can string a conversation together.

I take it Wayne Bennett doesn't have a problem with golden points this year.

Apart from the fact that Bennett's not coaching the side this year, I'd give good odds that if you asked him, his opinion (on the golden point system) would remain unchanged.. as does mine (& I'm a Q'ld.'r)... I think it's a stupid idea, & if the game has to go into extra time, I reckon it should be 10 minutes each way (give both sides an even chance)... THEN, if the scores are still locked up, maybe the so-called "golden point".... YMMV
