Could anyone give me information on a supplier of draw slides as I am proposing to make a storage unit for the back of my Navara Dual Cab. As I am in Hobart I am hoping someone can recommend a reliable mail order supplier.

Hi

I bought some from Hafele and was well pleased with the product and the service. I ordered them over the phone through their Brisbane office and was given prompt service. Their website address for research purposes is www.hafele.com.au

Yep

Hafele are the way to go. Prices are pretty reasonable and service is very prompt. If ordered before 12, usually arrives by courier next day (at least that was the case when being shipped to Sydney). Runners are sturdy too.

Thanks Paul and Yep. Went to the Hafele site and they have exactly what I want in their catalogue. Have just sent them an email.
What did you fellows make your draws a frame out of. I am thinking of using 15mm marine ply but would be interested to hear of your thoughts.

I used the slides to make a fridge slide for a mates ute. But used about 17mm marine ply for the base of the slide. The sides of the slides were bolted to some steel angle that was welded onto another steel frame we had made up.

I think they take about a 5mm counter-sunk bolt from memory.

Have a look in the Overlander or 4wd Monthly for the adds. Most are good.
Mine currently are from Dept of inSydney and they are good. My previous set was from Cairns called outback and they were great but I sold them with the vehicle.
Give them a ring and ask questions or try there web site and E mail.
I used to have a handle on life, but it broke.

Cheers Dodg.
