Have seen a few mentions on here about Philips VisionPlus headlight upgrades (also referred to as 50+ or +50 by some) - and prices between $24 and $28 are mentioned. Dropped into Autobarn today for a set - $40! Where do you get them cheaper?

If you are going for the upgraded globes get ether Philips Blue Vision or Crystal Vision on dark country roads the difference is substantial, the illumination is much better.

The Blue Vision is A.D.R approved
Crystal Vision, States for off-road use only (I have not been pulled up yet but)

Scrubaroo,

The philips VisionPlus are probably the better globes, but at double the price of the Narva's are probably not worth the extra.

The original Jackaroo lights were not real flash and at about $18.00 each for the Narva Plus 50 in H4 size (from TJM I think) I upgraded my original globes and I am happy with the result for a moderate outlay.

Hi All,

Just looking at improving the lights on my 96 GQ Patrol. I haven't had a look yet, but does anyone know if I need to replace the whole headlight or can I simply change/upgrade the globes?

Many thanks,
Jezza.

Try REPCO, I got mine from them - can't remember the price but it wasn't that much.

The Narva PLUS 50's bulbs are fine.

Upgraded a new CRV's H1 bulbed high-beam headlights with PLUS 50, the low beam on these are also H1, though the lady owner liked the 'blue on approach' look, so for the low-beam I fitted Narva's Artic Blue AND at the same time added Artic Blue bulbs for the parkers and front fogs.

The PLUS 50's are not 'blue' in look, but are the best you can do outside of adding dedicated driving lights.

The Arctic Blue offer a whiter light within existing beam parameters, showing up reflectors, linemarking etc.

See the Narva or Hella websites for these. Osram and Phillips bulbs are also fine, best search for the right price. For polycarbonate headlights, ensure the bulbs are specified 'UV Cut'.
