Hi all,

My friend just got a fairly new troopy 98 diesel for this price. Except plenty of rust at the back and water soaked mat, it runs very well. The 4wd gear shift was very very difficult to be shifted.

Does anyone know more about this vehicle? Any common problem?

Thanks

Plenty of rust already?

Either Ex Mines, or its been drowned in salt water, and will rust away to nothing in a few yrs....

Sell it ASAP.

if its an ex miner true value would be around 6k chances are he will have many problems that will well and truly exceed any savings he thought he had made. The 4wd shift is a dead giva away they start to sieze within a year but you can free them up with crc check for chewed away brakes and broken springs and suspension mounts but most likely it will be plauged by a litteny of non specific problems and will cost a small fortune in the next 3 years

Yeah, have a tendancy to agree with the others here. I purchased a 1999 Diesel Troopy for $33000 buckets of extras including a high mount winch( Sydney Price at auction) with 55000 klicks, outstanding condition. $14500 is way to cheap for a '98 model

I know of a couple of 98 troopys going for $4000 each 300,000 kms, only a "LITTLE RUSTY", only driven carefully by backpackers on fraser island for last 4 years. lol
