Just a note to say we have arrived home from Innamincka today-
Shredded a tyre on the trailer out near Moomba about 7:30pm....
Bumped into John R and his friend with a 100 series....
Gave Belinda at the Trading Post a cuddle for Bonz :) problem is she wants me to send one back his way :(
Developed a taste for Coopers Pale Ale
Saw all the landmarks I went to see..... generally had a ball.

What a great bunch of people live there, friendly and helpful. I will definitely be going there again...

I was going to take it easy coming home but the sky was very grey when I was leaving. When I got to Tibooburra the locals advised me to get as far as Packsaddle before the wet hit, because if i was caught up this end then I wasn't going anywhere.

Got to Packsaddle and decided to get to Broken Hill and sealed roads....long days drive but seeing all the closed roads to White Cliffs, Louth and others, it was worth it.

Just want to thank all those who responded to my Innamincka Dreaming thread, with advise and tips....

totally agree with those sentiments bluey.....

the desert is a green haven at the moment from the previous rains.......there is standing water in the paddocks and along the sides of the roads....
my problem was the risk of being stranded out there and unable to get back to work next tuesday....geez was that such a problem??? i wish i was still out there. Sydney's weather is crap at the moment, I'm trying to unpack the gear between showers and wind gusts and it's freakin' cold.......

in Innamincka I was walking around in short sleeves at 8pm even without an anaesthetic coopers........mmmmmmmm coopers pale ale

Hey Sam,
yep the cd went well tho i wasn't game to run it on the dirt roads.
the Cobb Cooker didn't survive the corrugations real well tho.....a bit disappointed with that, 2 out of 3 of the base mounting lugs snapped off.....
still cooks a beautiful meal but you have to make sure its propped up enough to let the airflow in.....otherwise the heat beads die, or so i found out....

CD player would have handled the dirt roads no worries. Both the stacker and in-dash units have been given a real good work out and haven't had any probs.

Bummer about the Cobb. Have a word to them about it.

I am keen to see the photos mate!

Not so sure about that Sam,
some of those corrugations were so fierce they turned my wipers on a few times.

Anyway, that's what I told the kids or I would have copped Pantera at 1000dB all the way up the Strzelecki

One thing about John (R) is that he is consistant.

He has stopped and had a chat with forumites Crazie & Kir, Waynepd and others and hopefully made it to Innamincka after so much 'gas bagging'.

If he keeps this activity up, by the time he gets to Birdsville the 'grand ole Ex-OZ roundup' will have been and gone and Aunty Ruth will be on the pension.

Is that your real name, "Effen girl".

You behave like a girl so guess it must be the case.
