Thanks. I am planning on doing this trip next year. It is better when you travel in the company of friends too. Hopefully Member Sam will be coming along too.
The pics just make it harder to go to work in the meantime :)

John, I think it just simply wasn't up to the task.
This couple were actually on their way home, and were only 40 kms. from the bitumen.
The lady was driving when it happened. She said they had no warning, the spring just snapped, allowing the axle to be pulled out from behind the van.
The one thing I did notice....
They were in damn fine spirits! The episode wasn't going to ruin their holiday at all. I like people like that...
We lent them the Sat Phone, and they got in contact with whoever was going to come to their assistance. We couldn't do anything for them, but they were happy that we tried.

Yeah good one Ian, I agree nothing you can do about so no point in crying over it,I guess its part of the adventure.
I agree with you, I too like people who can keep their chin up in times of adversity.
