It pays to follow up on unsatisfactory service with a very seriously worded letter - my refund cheque for $375 arrived and has been banked, so that looks like the final chapter in the dealer$$speak rip off thread.

I have now learned that not all dealers offer a more competent or specialised service when you have a problem with one of their vehicles. Better to seek out a good mechanic and join a 4X4 club where you can seek advice from other informed people. I have now done both of these and have met some great 4X4 people.

Cheers,

Patrolee

Some of us advised him to buy a bottle of "hill of Grace" to celebrate his victory over adversity.

Well done Patrolee. You must be suitably satisfied in your persistence.

That's good news. It's pays to sometimes question and challenge things rather than accept things at face value.

Hi Patrolee
Great news, now only another 4000 or so dealers to sort out, maybe if everybody did this they would think twice about ripping us off . Good work
Cheers Kev
